what was that?!
So I am on bedrest and I am very compliant overall. My in-laws kept the kids during the day yesterday and I decided I would come along and pick them up with my husband. When we got to their house I started feeling extremely hot and was sweating. I had to sit and it got a little better. We then decid...

Re: Newly diagnosed...waiting game??
Yea I ended up having to pay about $100 for a better cuff because the one I had would squeeze my arm half to death and give me really wacky readings (like 150/50). The one I have now is a little more accurate, but I still take the readings with a grain of salt. Even if the machine is a little off it...

Re: Newly diagnosed...waiting game??
I think they are basing their decision on your BP readings. I would definitely recommend that you find a way to take your BP over the weekend! I am surprised that the docs would just suggest to return the cuff and not get a replacement. One of the reasons I am allowed to stay at home on bedrest is m...

Re: headaches and vision disturbances despite normal labs?
thanks guys! I get weekly BPPs and bi-weekly doc's appointments, and I am on weekly 24hour urines/pre-e bloodwork. If I experience BP issues or other issues I am to go to L&D to get labs done. I was just there yesterday again. I am to come back of the top number hits 150 or more for 2 readings or ri...

headaches and vision disturbances despite normal labs?
I was wondering if you could shed some light on this: Can you have the vision issues and headaches despite normal labs? My pre-e labs are still stable, but as my BP is rising (they increased the meds again) I am concerned I might experience these symptoms and not be taken seriously if my labs come b...

BP readings - to call or not?
So when I take my BP in the morning it is high as expected. (140s/90s) Once the meds kick in a little, my BP can be all over the place. If I take it within 5 mins of say going to the bathroom it ranges from 145/90 to 140/104, but once I rest on my left side for a while it goes back to the 130s/80s. ...

Re: starting to decline :(
Thanks! I think I will just go ahead and start it tomorrow . BP are now even higher, (140/100), thankfully the swelling is gone and resting makes my BPs better. I am just doubtful that we can still keep this going for that long. Oddly enough my BPs always seem worse over the weekend! (although I gue...

Re: Emily Elizabeth has arrived!
congratulations! Sounds like everything went well, and what a strong little girl you have, less than 10 days in the NICU is amazing! :) I had a similar thing happen when I got my epidural with my daughter, my BP dropped from 160/110 to 100/50 and I was miserable! So happy to hear the happy ending! :)

starting to decline :(
I will be 33 weeks on Monday and things are slowly starting to go downhill :( I am starting to notice more swelling, and my BP stays around 140/90 more often than not despite the increase in labetalol (I now take 300 mg twice daily). I have labslips for my 24 hour urine and pre-e bloodwork here, so ...

Re: When to schedule c-section
sorry to hijack this thread but I have a related question: If you do have BP issues like me (protein is slowly rising again, platelets slowly dropping, increased meds) and you are on pretty strict bedrest, would it be unreasonable to consider induction at 38 weeks? Frankly I am starting to feel the ...
