Peri consult

<t>Hi, everyone. I took the advice given to me by several of you, and scheduled a prepregnancy consult with a peri. I go on Tuesday of next week, and I am VERY nervous. I am seeing a new ob (two years) and a new peri neither of whom were present for the mess of my first pregnancy. I'm hoping he can ...

Re : Amnio Questions

<t>Seriously? No nakedness? Maybe my guy was just insensitive, because, truly, I was far more affected by my exposure then the procedure itself. <br/> <br/> This is good to hear for you guys...mine was probably unique to that doctor! <br/> <br/> And like I said, I was imagining the needle of needles...

Re : Amnio Questions

I forgot to mention the IV. I don't think there was one. I was so poked and prodded in those final weeks, I'm a little fuzzy on who stuck me and when, but I think you're safe on the IV front.

Re : Amnio Questions

<t>Ah, I forgot the most important part: NUMBING [:I] ! They applied a topical anesthetic at the site. It really felt no worse than having blood drawn from your arm. I was imagining this huge pole-like device, but the needle isn't really that much longer than a regular one. The doc told me they only...

Re : high bp

<t>Hey Misty,<br/> I just read your post for the first time. I had super high bps following my c-section. I also developed HELLP immediately after delivery. I delivered in June and by October I was med free! I also was on two to begin with. My doctor, (I was treated by an internist for the bps becau...

Re : went back to the dr today

<t>I completely know what you're going through! I had a very similar experience. I kept asking my doctor if we could go ahead and do a c-section at around 34 weeks, and they kept putting me off saying that we were shooting for a vaginal at term. That didn't happen, and I had a c-section two weeks la...

Re : Guidance please...

<t>Thanks for the information everyone! It was good hearing that some of you had subsequent pregnancies without a peri from the start. I do feel comfortable with my new ob and the way she has said she will handle it. I guess after my first pregnancy, I have this strong (almost need) tendency to mist...

Guidance please...

<t>Hi, my name is Heather and I am new here as of yesterday. THis is a LONG post - bear with me. My husband and I are wanting to conceive again, which I discussed with my ob last week at my yearly visit. She gave us the green light with the caution to expect bp issues and maybe PE again. She also sa...

Re : 38 Week Checkup

<t>Heather,<br/> <br/> First off, congratulations on making it so far! That's great! Second, if you don't mind my asking...did you take any medications with this pregnancy? I noticed that you had PE and HELLP with your first. I did, too. I was wondering if there was something that you/your physician...

Re : can you read this please - advice!

<t>I just wanted to drop a quick reply. I was diagnosed with PIH at 32 weeks, PE at around 34 weeks, HELLP after emergency c-section due to placental abruptia at 36 weeks. Our little was 5.1 lbs. He roomed with me, required no oxygen, lungs were completely mature, he ate fine, lost down to 4.9 over ...
