Re: Huge headache, floaters,swelling,high BP....

With everything you've described, I'd park my butt in the ER. I would request a full panel of labs to be pulled and I would ask that each and every symptom you've mentioned is charted. Thinking of you!

Re: What did the headache feel like to you?

The headache I had in the hospital with my first was so bad that I couldn't tolerate even a sliver of light in the room or sound at all. My nurse came in and replaced a bag of ice that we were keeping on my head in addition to IV narcotics. It even scored me a trip to imaging. In comparison, for sev...

Rosalinda, I am so , so sorry for your loss and the incomprehensible pain you must be in. Tears for you and your sweet baby girl. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Re: question about 36 weekers

My first was born 8 minutes into his 36th week and it was an emergency delivery with no prior steroids. He did great with no breathing, feeding, or temperature regulating difficulties. He was a tiny fellow, but much happier to be out than in at that point.

Re: mucus :(

She probably had the spit-up go into her nose. Mine have done that before and I imagine it feels similar to what I feel when I get water up my own nose, but infinitely worse. Do you have one of those bulb aspirators from the hospital? If you think she's choking on it and can't clear it herself, you ...

Re: How often are you having ultrasounds?

My experience was identical to Angie's except I didn't start NST (with fluid checks)/BPPs until 32 weeks. I had them more frequently because of the anticoagulants, fwiw.

Uh, I had to edit because my crazy iPad autocorrected "identical" to "die tidal," and I didn't catch it before submitting. ;)

Re: milk supply

Have you been in contact with a lactation consultant? You should be able to reach one through the hospital where you delivered. The pump and I (from my first baby) were not friends. Some people have great success with pumping, but some don't. I know Caryn's said before that she didn't get much with ...

Re: Questions for near term moms

Christina, congratulations! :) All of my babies have been term or near-term ranging from barely 36 weeks to 37. My smallest (36) came home at 4 lbs 9oz in the middle of summer. My largest (37) came home in the dead of winter at 1/2 ounce under 7 lbs. With all of ours, the only special instructions w...

Re: Retinal Detachment & Vision Loss due to PE

I am SO sorry; I can't begin to imagine how scary that must've been for you. :( Julie, one of our former Forum Administrators, I believe suffered from something similar after her first baby boy was born. She isn't able to be around much, but I'm going to see if I can get in touch with her for you. H...

Re: Does size of belly matter?

Not necessarily, I don't think. I was enormous with Nicolas, and he was really small for 36 weeks. With Oliver, though, I was the smallest I'd ever been in pregnancy (I think I only gained around 15 lbs), and my belly stayed smaller longer than with the other two which goes against the logic that yo...
