Re: Questions for all
w/DS: pressures were in 130's over 80's at 32 weeks 5 days. I was admitted for a 24-hour urine and blood tests. I stayed on modified bedrest until 37 weeks 2 days when I was induced. w/DD: pressures were high at 33 weeks 2 days. I had an emergency c-section at 35 weeks 4 days. Both times I took Labe...

Re: Anxiety kicking in
Your anxiety is understandable, but when you repeatedly take your BP (within minutes), you're making it worse. I had one nurse set my BP cuff for every 5 minutes and I thought I was going to freak out just from the repeated inflating of the cuff! I begged her to change the setting to longer intervals.

Re: Pre E and HELLP with two can I have more?
More kids is scary after such an early and severe time with PE on your second pregnancy, but other posters have done it. It is more risky since you've been sick twice, but more kids is something you can definitely talk to an MFM about! I agree that I would be very scared to get pregnant again in yo...

Re: Possibly delivering soon
I was allowed to run pretty high this last time--160/100 (or maybe it was 160/110--things get lost in the new baby haze) because my pressures were slightly higher than normal during the entire pregnancy, even though I don't have chronic hypertension. IV labetalol worked quite well for me the first t...

Re: no maternity insurance, advice? *long post*
If I were low-risk (no past history of PE) then I would consider paying cash for a hospital delivery. But even a routine hospital delivery will run well over a grand, hereabouts anyway. Here it's $10,000 for a routine, uncomplicated hospital birth. I would not get pregnant without maternity coverag...

Re: Procardia. Getting nervous
I've been taking it postpartum. I have a real low point about an hour after I take it. I get sleepy and my pressure is very low. Other than that, I haven't had any side effects that I've noticed, although the MFM told me it can cause headaches. My pressures have come down the last several weeks, so ...

During my Level II u/s, the tech changed a setting on the machine and you could see the doppler images on the screen.

Re: permanent birth control
We're having similar discussions in our house. My DH is going to make an appointment with a surgeon for his vasectomy. I hated being pregnant this last time--I was anxious, I felt ill, I felt guilty for putting the baby, my DH and my son through such a rough pregnancy--and yet I'm still sad that I m...
