Re: Called the on Call doc ***UPDATED went in!

Sorry you're not feeling well. I agree that we shouldn't have to relive the pain of our losses just to get help. Like you said, a women should not have to suffer a loss to be taken seriously--symptoms are symptoms, but unfortunately, that is what I found to be the case when it comes to after hour ca...

Re: Anyone elses get this??

I had something similar in my last pregnancy and was told they were contractions. My OB said they were normal and it was my body's way of preparing for labor. As long as I wasn't having a lot of them & they weren't painful he was not concerned.

BTW, Congratulations on 30 weeks!!

Re: Preeclampsia Study: Progesterone AND Baby Aspirin

That is interesting, but I wonder how long they keep the mothers on progesterone? I did IVF with my first 2 pregnancies. Both baby aspirin and progesterone were part of the standard protocol. I was on progesterone support until approx. 10-11 weeks in both pregnancies and baby aspirin until approx 20...

Re: When and if it comes on again

I was told something similar during my 2nd pregnancy. Of course given the severity and early onset of PE during my 1st pregnancy, my chances of developing it again were HIGH (40-60% in my case). However, my MFM told me that based on what he sees with his patients (no study...just his practice), most...

Re: Question regarding BP!

That happened to me in my 2nd pregnancy. It was really scary and I insisted on being seen by an OB even though it was a Saturday. (The OB on call wasn't concerned, but given my past history he kindly agreed.) They monitored me and baby for a couple of hours and all was well. Like the PP said, it can...

Re: work leave when pg with pre-e/hellp

I agree with your mother on this one. There are just so many things out of your control when it comes to pregnancy that you just can't really plan for ahead of time. At least not this far ahead. Another thing to keep in mind, is you might not get PE again. I developed PE at 26 weeks with my daughter...

Re: work leave when pg with pre-e/hellp

I don't think your union rep is right. I would speak to someone in Human Resources. You can definitely take time away from work with a DR's note, but that doesn't mean your job is secure. My understanding is that your job is only protected under FMLA for 12 weeks regardless of how long your doctor p...

Re: Abnormal?

I'm not really familiar with what is considered *normal* heart rates during pregnancy, but I would go ahead and call the DR. If nothing else, they will help put your mind at ease.
