Re: BPP and NST

I disagree with that one. I don't think it is as cut and dry as that. I think in healthy pregnancies it might be a little more reassuring, but I don't think that is the case in complicated pregnancies. At least not for me anyway... In my first pregnancy I scored a 6/8 which I was told was good for 2...

Re: A high reading?

I think since it went down after sitting for a few minutes, you're ok, but I wouldn't disregard it. Instead I would show your MFM all 3 readings. I never wait 5 minutes before taking my BP. (They don't wait 5 minutes at my OB's office.) If I get a high or relatively higher number, I will remain sitt...

Re: HCG levels dropped.

So sorry to hear this. :( Did you go to the same lab for both blood draws? If not, it could just be a discrepancy in the labs.

Re: Bpp & NST

Like others have said, the BPP is an u/s and looks at 1 )fetal body movement, 2) fetal tone, 3) fetal breathing movements, and 4) amniotic fluid for a score of x/8. It can also be combined with a NST and scored x/10. Each category is worth 2 points and you either get a 2 or 0 for each. In my first p...

Re: fetal movement at the end of the pregnancy?

Well, I only made it to 35w6d in my last pregnancy, but my understanding is that the movement will *change* because there is less room in there. I remember my MFM telling me there won't be as many kicks and jabs, instead it will feel more like rubbing/rolling because the baby is running out of room....

Re: Re : Test to see is placenta is finctioning properly

There are blood tests in development that will probably begin to become available -- not as a part of standard prenatal care, but rather as something women with a history of PE/HELLP can opt into -- within the year. The tests will analyze levels of a couple of proteins produced by the placenta (sFl...

Re: Poll: The 2 year window. Does it really work?

Did you have PE/hellp/eclampcia with your last pregnancy? PE in 1st pregnancy. Did you have a severe case and of what? Severe PE in 1st pregnancy. At what week did your symptom's begin? BP started rising around 24.5-25 weeks, but urine came back normal. Official diagnosis and hospital admission at 2...

Re: low bps?

How far along are you? I had something similar happen to me and had to decrease my meds twice in my 2nd pregnancy. I think the first time was around 12 weeks and again around 24. Maybe it is the 2nd trimester dip? And, low BP can cause you to feel bad. I always felt *off* first, then light headed an...
