Re: Weight Loss Buddies - Spring 2012 4/10/12

Chocolate chips is a great idea...! I just signed up for WW online, and I feel more motivated to have something to help track progress/eating/activity. That way I get credit for working out regularly which is something I enjoy, but will also have to hold myself accountable for the food I eat. I like...

Re: Weight Loss Buddies - Spring 2012 4/10/12

So, can I say I love chocolate? That is my excuse! Not that I have to give it up completely, but cutting back sure would help  Anyway....same weight as the last two weeks, but I just need to dive in there and go for it. I keep reminding myself my goal isn't so far away, so just do it. Sorry abo...

Re: Weight Loss Buddies - Spring 2012 4/10/12

Just wanted to lend my support to everyone as well, and say good luck with all you have going on and hopeful weight loss! I had a friend that was motivated to do something after having a doc appt in January....she had one test that indicated she was pre diabetes, so her doctor strongly recommended s...

Re: Weight Loss Buddies - Spring 2012 4/10/12

I will chime in a day early because though I had some nice work late last week and was down a couple of pounds, I didn't fare so well this weekend and undid all of my good work. My first post still remains, but I have high hopes for this week to do much better :-)

Re: Weight Loss Buddies - Spring 2012 4/10/12

I think I should do this....I have been hovering on the idea of losing a few pounds, and this brings some intention into it all :-) I haven't posted/read here as much as I used to, so this will be a nice way to come back. Once I firmly decided to stick with one child and got further away from my pre...

Re: I dont know how to make this decision

I don't personally feel like you have to doubt your doctor. If he knows what to look for he can handle your pregnancy....the big things of course are keeping an eye on bp and urine, and they do that anyway for all pregnant women. Though you could develop pre-e or hellp, you also might not, and most ...

Re: Health issues years after preeclampsia

The doctor is probably referring to the many studies that discuss how pre-e exposes your risk for cardiac issues, etc, later in life. I think those that had pre-e also have a higher risk for diabetes. But it just exposes your risk...doesn't mean that you will necessarily have more issues than other ...

Re: Advice for 33-week friend?

We had the same experience with the NICU....told to expect close to the due date early on, but he was only there 2 weeks at most. I think that they often say that to avoid parents getting their hopes up too soon, as I think many 33-34 weekers do not spend a ton of time in the hospital unless they ha...

Re: Advice for 33-week friend?

I was a 33 weeker pregnant person :-) I developed high bp at 28 weeks, and at 33 weeks I was feeling odd pains in the middle of the night, so went into l&d, and the labs as well as finally having protein in my urine, along with my consistently high bp despite meds, caused them to consider me severe ...

Re: Very early onset of PE but not chronic?

I know someone that had a fairly okay first pregnancy, in that they did develop some minor bp issues in the first pregnancy, but didn't develop pre-e and made it to full term. In their second pregnancy they developed high bp really early which basically means they are chronic hypertension (as you ar...
