Re: how to construct pre -eclampsia unit

It's highly unlikely the women and posters on this Community Forum would have that information, but if you email me at info @ preeclampsia.org along with your country and specific location, I will try to find experts in global health with whom you could connect. No promises as this request is a litt...

Re: Bad news very upset

I'm so so sorry, anny4. It can be so heartbreaking when you've probably been sitting on pins and needles this whole time already! Are your doctors giving you any hope? U/S are not perfect and especially this early can be very iffy.

ACOG Issues new guidelines for PE diagnosis and management

Lots of comments about this on Facebook, but if you didn't see that post, you'll want to read the news from the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists. I was a member of the task force that developed these and why you'll see, for the first time, a section recommending patient education as...

Re: HELLP Syndrome PP?

Experts who have addressed this in the past have suggested that this is only answered by extensive lab testing. A small portion of HELLP first presents postpartum for the first time; Acute Fatty Liver of Pregnancy (AFLP) usually is a late pregnancy problem that has variable degrees of severity, agai...

Re: Why do babies die from pre-e even when viable stage?

I'm sure some of our able moderators will have more expert sounding responses, but from one affected woman to another, I would say the answer is "it depends." Usually babies die because of a wide variety of issues related to their prematurity. A baby born before term is usually going to face health ...

Downton Abbey

Who caught tonight's PBS episode (Jan. 27)? Reactions? Did you think they treated the issue accurately (medically, emotionally, and otherwise)?
