Hi, my name is Jennifer.
I was diagnosed with HELLP at 36 1/2 weeks gestation and delivered via emergency c-section the next day. However, I had problems with high blood pressure throughout my pregnancy, though I was never diagnosed as having p/e.

Christian Michael born healthy- 4 lbs, 7 oz.

1st pregnancy-Hospitalized at 26 weeks 1 day, although had been having symptoms of HELLP for at least 4 weeks prior.
Diagnosed at 26 weeks 6 days and delivered the same day. Class II HELLP.
My son Daniel survived and at 22 months is doing fantastic.

2nd pregnancy-Hospitalized and diagnosed with HELLP at 22 weeks 5 days.
Delivered at 23 weeks. Class I HELLP (They told me that the chances of it reoccurring with the second pregnancy were very very slim)
Sadly, my twins Joseph and James both died they were under a pound each.

I had HELLP after I gave birth to my stillborn son in Oct 2002 .. I was on Mag Sulfate for 24+ hours as a precaution and I believe I am glad I was, because two tums tablets and a blood draw and then I was fine. I know it could have been a lot worse.

Severe PE at 27 weeks and hospitalized. Developed HELLP at 27 weeks 3 days. Baby born c-section at 1lb 10oz. He spent 3 months in the NICU. He is now a healthy 5 yr old. Had a second baby, developed PIH. Delivered c-section at 32 wks, he was 4lb 8oz. And now a healthy 2 yr old. They are named Nathanial and Jonathan which both mean "a gift from God". I still struggle with borderline HP and excess weight from the steriod shots. A tiny price to pay for the life of my boys!

I was diagnosed with severe Preeclampsia and HELLP at 26 weeks, 6 days. I delivered the same day when the baby went into distress. I recovered very well without any long term affects. However, my baby developed Chronic Lung Disease from being on a ventilator and eventually passed away after a long 5 1/2 month fight.

Mother of Seth Russell, delivered 26 weeks due to PE/HELLP 9/3/03-2/13/04
Due with Joshua Allen -scheduled C-section @ 39 weeks (about Jan 20, 2005)

- Formally diagnosed with severe PE/HELLP on 8/24/04 (had been in hospital for 10 days with very high BP and some other PE symptoms, but PE was not detected through the usual tests at the first hospital -- moved to second hospital on 8/24 and within hours developed severe epigastric pain and low platelet count)
- Delivered at 3:07 AM on 8/25/04 at 24 weeks 1 day gestation.

I noticed on my daughter's death summary that they have me listed as having chronic hypertension instead of PIH. I don't believe that is correct as I had only rarely had high BP readings at doctor's appointments prior to this, and they were only borderline high and could be attributed to the stress of the doctor's visit or other stresses in my life.

Admitted to hospital 3 am May 19, 2001, at 27 3/7 weeks, diagnosed with severe pe and HELLP, delivered of a littel girl by emergency c-section at 3:31 pm the same day weighing 1091 grams. 2 months of NICU, and she came home healthy, thank goodness, although there are times lately when I think she needs a serious attitude adjustment, LOL.
