High pulse?????? Update and another question
Re : High pulse?????? Update and another question
Exercise almost always worked for me.
Re : High pulse?????? Update and another question
Thanks, everyone. I just got a normal reading, but I also walked 3 miles a little while ago. Does exercise lower your bp? Time to start keeping a log!
Re : High pulse?????? Update and another question
I hope you are feeling better today! I had issues with my pulse racing throughout my pregnancy, and it was terribly annoying. Yoga was one of the only things that would bring mine down to a level that let me sleep.
Re : High pulse?????? Update and another question
Goodness Sheri! How are you feeling today (besides nervous)? That weight gain is significant to be sure to keep an eye on any other symptoms. I would certianly call in if that BP gets higher again. (((HUGS)))
Re : High pulse?????? Update and another question
Thanks, Caryn. My bp is still up a little after sleeping on my left side all night. And I gained 4 pounds overnight (after gaining nothing for 27 weeks). This is the same time my pre-e symptoms started last night. I'm getting nervous.

How frustrating, gah!
I don't have a good sense of how the thyroid stuff interacts with preeclampsia but let me poke around.

mine was 130-135 resting through my second trimester and then in my third it was 160-165 resting or minimal activity. it was awful but they said it may have been a hormone induced anxiety since my cardiac work up came back fine. i wish i could say it will return to normal after baby but cayleigh is almost 7 months old and it is still lingering. just getting on the elliptical machine bumps my hr to 170. it does get better though
Re : High pulse?????? Update and another question
Thanks Caryn, Mandy & Trish. I wasn't really concerned until I noticed I was having some shortness of breath while shopping today. And I am having a hard time falling asleep. I will bring it up with MFM tomorrow and hope they says it's "normal".

Re : High pulse?????? Update and another question
My OB said it was normal when my resting pulse was regularly in the 90's and then 110's if I was walking around. Something to do with extra blood volume & needing to work harder to pump it all. She would only be concerned (for me) if it had been regularly over 125. Still felt like climbing Everest to walk up to the 2nd story of my house.
Tomorrow I'd certainly ask your MFM what they'd consider too high for you.

Re : High pulse?????? Update and another question
Hi,
My pulse runs around 90-100 as well, even up to 110 sometimes after I eat. My docs don't seem concerned as they say during pregnancy the pulse can naturally go up 10-20 bpm higher than your normal rate. It does get aggravating and sometimes uncomfortable. I find mine is sometimes set off and goes higher when I turn from one side to the other while trying to get to sleep. best wishes
