Hi Jasmine...aww sorry to hear that...things will get better. When I delivered I also had to have the baby admitted, she was dx with reflux at birth. I am assuming that your baby is taking some sort of special formula to help him digest food properly. My daughter drinks Nutramigen. Also wanted to let you know that most health insurance plans cover baby formula. Im not sure if you were aware. By the way he looks just like your hubby ...hope he gets better soon!

Our first son was born and passed in Feb of 2010. Born at 29 weeks due to HELLP and passed due to NEC. We miss him every day. :~(

Our second son was born at 39 weeks gestation in Nov of 2011. No HELLP or pre-e! Took LDA starting at week 12 and went off of it at week 38!

Wow, Jasmine. I'm soooo sorry your little guy has had such a rough start after you guys escaped PE!! You must have been terrified. Like Blythe said, I sure hope you've seen the last of these issues! I wouldn't give up on breastfeeding just yet though! Its def still possible.

He's gorgeous!

I'm so sorry you've had such a rough first month though.

As far as breastfeeding, I would keep trying and working with a LC because nothing is going to help keep your supply up like a baby will and there are plenty of babies who can eventually breastfeed even after a NICU stay, but also I'd look into taking fenugreek and blessed thistle or other supplements to help get your supply up, and if you aren't already using a hospital grade pump, definitely check into renting one--some insurances will cover it. There are also lots of websites and resources out there for exclusive pumping mom's so maybe google around a bit. Good luck!

I'm glad he's home with you and hopefully he will be an easy baby from here on out!

I'm so sorry you and Luke went through all that. Having your baby in the nicu is so hard.

I just requested this book from our library ... 18&sr=1-1b Maybe it will give you some good suggestions.

I'm sorry you've had so much stress and he's had so many doctors poking and prodding- not the way you wanted him to start out his life, but I'm very glad to hear he and you have gotten through it and he's chunking up as a newborn should.

Oh my goodness you have been through a lot. I am so very glad it seems to be turning around for you now. Your son is beautiful and I was so glad when I came back to the boards to hear that you had a successful pregnancy. Hang in there and enjoy your little man! :)
