I went on bedrest at 25 weeks and was in severe pre-e and HELLP at 27. The reason for the bedrest was not blood pressure, but a baby that had pretty much quit growing since 20-22 weeks, low fluid, and a big placenta (due to clotting). I had URQ pain starting at 25 weeks and my BP began to rise at 27 weeks, which got me steroids (just in case of early delivery) and landed me in the hospital. 3 days after that I was in full HELLP, severe pre-e, and my son had absent diastolic flow in the cord, so they got him out.
I've heard that 2 weeks is pretty common for bedrest, but there have been people on bedrest for 3 months. Let's hope you won't need it! How far along are you?
