Sorry to hear you aren't out of the woods yet. It is not uncommen for preeclampsia to get worse before it gets better. The theory is the placenta can dump a lot of chemicals in circulation during labor/delivery and it takes a while for your body to mop everything up and heal from the damage.

For me personally, after my second delivery, my pressures started going up high enough I was put on blood pressure (BP) meds. Even on meds my BP still spiked a week postpartum before starting to gradually come back down over the next several weeks.

Are you monitoring your pressures at home?

Swelling has not gone down and at my c section follow up yesterday my blood pressure was 160/81. They sent me home on bed rest for the next week with orders to go to the ER if any more serious symptoms occur. I have an appointment Tuesday to follow up again. I am sleep deprived caring for a newborn and my husband is already back at work. I don't understand why my blood pressure was back up when it was fine when discharged from the hospital on Friday.

Elizabeth arrived safely through repeat c section at 39+1 on 8/9. My blood pressure has gone back down to a more normal range. Last reading was 127/71. I am still dealing with bad swelling in my feet and ankles. She was 8 lbs 3 oz at birth. So relieved she's here and that it never progressed beyond gestational hypertension.

Today's doctor visit:

Doctor confirmed no preeclampsia but my blood pressure was 147/98 and my edema is so bad that I have gained 15 pounds of swelling and water weight in the last month. If I didn't already have a c section on Tuesday, my doctor said they would be inducing me on Monday or Tuesday as the gestational hypertension alone has gotten to a point where it is better for me and the baby for her to be born since it keeps going up. ,Tomorrow will be my last day of work. I will be 39 weeks on Monday so full term.

Glad it's not preeclampsia again but the high blood pressure alone is enough for me to be glad the end is near.

Lab results seem normal looking in my online portal.I have my final appointment before the baby tomorrow

URINE PROTEIN 11.0 mg/dL
24 HOUR URINE PROTEIN 0.193 g/24hr

They did a CBC, Uric Acid and a CMP for blood work and everything is in normal range

I feel sick and miserable but it may just be a combo of the high blood pressure and the end of pregnancy. 6 more days until my c section at least.

Blood pressure was up to 148/95 at my appointment Friday. My doctor had me repeat the 24 hour urine collection over Sunday-Monday and did more bloodwork. He's out of office on Mondays so I am waiting on results now. I am 38 weeks. My c section is scheduled a week from today at 39 weeks but he said if lab work shows preeclampsia then I may have to deliver sooner. Glad I have made it so far.
