My update as of yesterday:

Current weight: 205.7
Change: -2
Exercise goals this week: actually exercise lol
Diet goals this week: get back on track

Today is our wedding anniversary and we're planning to go out for Japanese later. Hopefully getting back on track tomorrow will be easy. :) I didn't do any exercising last week, I am going to try harder this week! AF showed up yesterday morning, talk about bad timing. Hopefully it doesn't show up on the scale next Monday.

Mommy to Gracie- born at 25 weeks 03/15/11, 11 inches, 1.1lbs, and absolutely beautiful. Became my sweet angel the next day.

This is the "gain a pound" week of my cycle too. I used to really resent it, but now I know to weigh myself anyway and not worry about that pound or two. It usually looks like a bigger weight loss in the next week.
I agree about being strict about every meal. I have to do that as well. I learned a couple of useful tricks last year when I finally started losing some weight. The first is to track everything including my weight, food intake, and exercise. I need accountability, and I could use the data to see when I was hungry because I really wasn't eating enough or to see that I actually was eating too much to lose. The second thing I learned was how important it is to get right back "on the wagon." Screwing up or occasionally indulging is ok if you get back on plan immediately afterwards. You can even plan for it if you are tracking. I used to think that I was doomed if I messed up or celebrated with a small treat. It is difficult and frustrating sometimes, but getting right back to healthy eating without a guilty period was the big difference between long term success and failure for me.

Here is a question for everyone - I am a big time snacker, and I had to replace my unhealthy snacks with healthy ones to drop the weight. What is a good healthy snack that works for you?
I replaced my daily fig newtons with a banana, and I swear that made a huge difference with almost no effort.

Tree- That's great advice about the fruits and veggies being "free"- I will definitely try that. 1200 calories is pretty restrictive but unfortunately, for me, it's all or nothing. I either have to restrict my eating for every meal or I fall apart. Once I start to lose though, that's enough motivation for me to stay away from the bad stuff but at first, I have to be pretty strict with it until I see the numbers start to drop. I guess that's my own little crazy mental quirk.
I haven't weighed myself since the last time...because I just started AF and I feel bloated. :( After she leaves town though, I will get back on the scale.

Welcome Ellemoon and Marilyn!
Ellemoon - Getting to a BMI of 25 sounds like a really good goal. Diet had a much bigger impact on weight loss than exercise when I was starting to lose. Exercise matters now that I am closer to my goal weight. 1200 calories is pretty restrictive, unless that is close to what you eat now. I was really hungry and cranky when I was down that low. I found it really helpful to consider fruits and vegetables as "free" and eating them when my allotted calories or points didn't do the job.

Marilyn - I was on a hormonal and swelling induced weight roller coaster for a while after my c-section. I think that the weight started coming off about two weeks after the section because I was able to walk more and we were out of the NICU. I really struggled for almost a year to start getting those extra 60 lbs off. I feel your pain. In hindsight, I wish I had committed to getting on the scale once each week to make sure my weight was trending down and that I hadn't drowned my sorrows about breastfeeding in Ben and Jerry's. What does your doctor think? Can you set a goal to keep losing until your six week appointment, then set something more formal when you are fully recovered?

Val, Stress eating is going to be the worst part of this battle with the scale. Work really wants me to eat more chocolate.

My Check in for the week:
Starting weight: 144.4
Weight this week: 145.2 (+1)
Goal - 139, because I just want to be below 140 for the first time since my wedding.
I would be bummed about the weight gain, but my scale tells me that my body fat is down to 30%. I hadn't checked it in a few months, but I had been stuck at 34% for a year. I did get my goal workouts in (barely) with a 2.5 hour bike ride on Wednesday and a short run on Friday. I went out for a 45 minute run today, and I would like to get in a ride and a yoga class this work week, plus a good long workout over the weekend. What are your plans?

I'll join you guys!
I'm wanting to lose 15-20lbs before TTC in April.

My current weight is 155 and I'm 5'4". This is actually what I weighed before I got pregant in 2010 with DD but I really would like to start the next pregnancy at a healthier weight. My goal is to get my BMI right at or less than 25. So, here goes!

My weight loss goals are to eat less than 1200 calories a day. I'm not great at exercising so I will try to add that in after I get the hang of eating properly. My biggest downfall are sweets. I have GOT to learn to stay away from those.

Thanks for the motivation guys! I definitely need people to help me feel accountable!

I need some weight loss buddies. I gained 60 lbs this pregnancy (despite busting my hump in the gym all the way up until my third trimester) as opposed to 30 with my first. I went from about 150 to 210. I was down 18 lbs at my two week checkup but I'm still really swollen and can't wear my rings or shoes yet so I'm not even sure what kind of goal I should set or how much water weight I can expect to lose.

It is funny, certain kinds of stress make me not want to eat, and other kinds make we want to eat everything in the house. Once I get my biopsy results back HOPEFULLY I will be calming down... hopefully the results will be good and then I can calm down.

We are ready when you are.
Stress is a huge food trigger for me. I keep telling myself that the refrigerator is not a therapist, but I struggle with it every day.
