Preemies are good things that come in small pkg's

Are you part of the NICU club? Do you have a child who is still struggling with the effects of being born too soon from preeclampsia? Share your concerns and stories here among parents who have been there.

I used to say that Kirsten weighed the same as a bag of sugar. It's wierd, when I buy a bag of sugar I always think that even years later.

We always say she was the size of a teacup chihuahua (think Paris Hilton's tinkerbell). They are like 2-3lbs usually. Our little one was 2 lbs 7.5 ounces!! Great thread Jenn! I love it!

We would compare everything to sugar packets.

LOL!

The nurses in the NICU used to use margarine tubs as a comparison.

Kate was 1.8 kgs...about the same size as a medium whole chicken that I'd buy to roast for our family of 4.

I CANNOT be the only who constantly looks at the weight of something and compares it to what my preemie weighed when she was born. Right?

I find this little cooky game of mine to come in handy when I try to explain to outsiders what it was like to hold your heart in your hand.

So here's my latest comparison:

Jaidyn weighed 2 oz less than a bottle of ketchup (fridge door size)

Okay, so call me a dork - but you know you want to continue my silly post and find something in the house to compare yours too.
(please [:)] I'll feel dumb otherwise [:o)])
