Here we go...

Postby danielsmom » Mon Oct 10, 2011 10:02 pm

To be honest, I'm not sure whether to post here or under the TTC board. But... we are pregnant...I think. Well, I hope we still are.

Long story short, I've had 3 miscarriages, all 6-8 weeks, and am so thankful for my son to be here and doing so well. Of the 4 pregnancies, we think we've learned I have a luteal phase defect, and require progesterone to sustain pregnancy. I started the earliest on it with Daniel at 4w5d. This time, I started at ovulation.

My cycle was due again last Tuesday. I took a test Monday, definitely negative. Wednesday... the outline of a 2nd line was there, but I wrote it off as a negative. I took one Friday because I'm sick and needed to take something to kick this cold, and the 2nd line was half way there. Strange for being so weak 3 days after I'm due right? I hadn't started yet, but I've been on prometrium. It's common not to start for 3-5 days.

I came in to the doctor's office for a blood test. Later, I missed the nurse's call because she called my cell and I get spotty coverage in my house (the only place in the world that does that). Her message said "your numbers are a TAD elevated". I could read into her voice that something wasn't right. I test again today to see if the numbers rise as they should. When I get my results, the nurse apologizes because someone had wrote down my results wrong Friday. She thought the HCG was 2.42 when it was really 242! Big difference. And today's HCG was 622, so it's about doubling every 48 hours like it should.

It hasn't really sunk in yet. I don't think it will until I'm 10 weeks... or 30 weeks, whatever. :) I get to start Lovenox tonight. Prayers would be great.
