God Saved Us

March 25th 2015 I gave birth to my beautiful daughter. She was born at 36 weeks, weighing 5 lbs and 17 1/2 inches long. Her original due date was April 16th 2015. It was the best and worst day of my life. I had a very easy pregnancy from the start. I never had morning sickness, mood swings, or high blood pressure. I had a very happy pregnancy. On March 25th 2015 I went to my regular 36 week doctor appointment. My blood pressure was 140/ 80 so my midwife went ahead and sent me over to triage at OU children's hospital, right next door. My midwife informed me that they would give me medicine for my blood pressure and to be prepared that we would probably be delivering a baby the next day. When I got to my room the nurses couldn't get an IV started because of all the water weight. My Blood pressure was now 220/110, right about this time my husband got there. The nurses still couldn't get an IV and an insurance guy had came to the room to ask me questions, after about two questions I saw stars all around me with an aching head, I was suddenly blinded. I went into an extreme seizure, I remember waking up screaming my husbands name. I was rushed too get an emergency C-section. All I remember was the excruciating pain in my back. I had eclampsia, when I woke up I was so thirsty and kept throwing up all over myself. I was in shock from the seizure. I was on magnesium in the ICU so that I didn't have another seizure. My daughter was rushed to the NICU, doctors were panicking not knowing if she would make it. I think the worst part of it all was not even knowing I had, had my baby and not being able to see her for 3 days because I was not allowed out of bed. It was so hard not being able to hold her and comfort her. It's all such a blur of a nightmare to me. I think it was just as hard on my husband. He rushed to the ICU to take care of me and then would stay in the NICU all day and night doing kangaroo care with our new baby. My husband knew that it was bad when they sent in a priest too pray with him. I know God was with us that day. If my appointment would have been later in the day or on a different day I would have been sitting at home alone and me and my baby would not be here today. Gods plan is always perfect and I thank him everyday for saving our lives and giving me a new perspective on life.
