3 Times Blessed

My first pregnancy was difficult as I was sick from day one till the day I delivered. At 36 weeks, I woke up with a headache like I have never had. I called the doctor and saw him that afternoon. I was spilling protein in my urine, my BP was 220/150 and my hands were swollen. They sent me directly to the hospital and I was there for a month as my baby was very tiny. Due to fetal distress, she was delivered at 40 weeks by emerg c-section. She weighed 5 lbs, 4 oz but was fine. I continued to have bp issues but was put on meds to control it.

After losing 50 lbs my bp came down, and I got pregnant again. No issues other than at 38 weeks I started having contractions, so she was delivered once again by c-section. She weighed 6 lbs, 8 ozs.

My bp went up again a few years later due to weight gain and then I found my self pregnant again. This was a surprise. The doctor I had at that time warned me I was high-risk, changed my bp meds as the ones I was on was not safe during pregnancy. I had to leave my job by 12 weeks as the doc did not want me working. By 20 weeks, I had to be off my feet 20 hrs a day. That is hard when you have an 8 and 4-year-old. They were big helpers. At 36 weeks I saw the ob and my bp was really high. He wasn't concerned. The next morning, I had the shakes and knew something was wrong so I went to my gp. He called the ob to have me admitted and baby delivered.

The ob said we will admit and monitor her. My gp said, you deliver the baby today or I will send her where they will because this baby will not make it. My little boy was delivered that night at 6 pm weighing 7 lbs, 7 oz. He never would have made it to full-term. They said my preeclampsia got bad so fast from the time I was seen in the office until he was delivered. My little guy struggled to breath for a few hours but he was okay. The only thing that was a problem was he had no suck reflex so he need a few days to learn. He is now 24. God blessed me 3 times and kept my babies safe.
