Recognition & Response is Critical
It used to be that less than half of expectant moms knew the signs and symptoms of preeclampsia. Because of the work of the Preeclampsia Foundation and our provider partners, we're making progress. Still today, there are mothers who do not report their symptoms to their healthcare providers for fear of over-reacting or because they do not recognize the dangers of these warning signs. Working with other national organizations, we also have work underway to ensure that when they do report their concerns, they are heard. Listen to moms!
The Preeclampsia Foundation is working to improve the resources available to all women and their caregivers by providing evidence based educational materials in our Store and throughout our website. We encourage providers to use and recommend these resources. Through our membership on the Council for Patient Safety in Women's Healthcare, we successfully included these important warning signs on other organization materials, as well.
