My Babies

My Babies

When I was 27 weeks with my son Nolan, I had started developing gestational diabetes and then by end of December-January I had developed preeclampsia. When I went to MFM on February 10th my blood pressure was extremely high, and it wouldn’t go down. They decide to induce. They gave me magnesium and eventually after 30 hours of failed induction I had to have a csection. He was born at 36 weeks and he was perfect. I don’t remember much since I was so out of it.

My daughter I was on bed rest in beginning of November and her due date was Dec 25th. I wasn’t feeling well so I went to office and they transferred me over to hospital. With her, I knew she was coming early, but I wanted to be at least 37 weeks. After my BP came down and 5 days later , I was put on bed rest. Two weeks later at 35 weeks I wasn’t feeling good, I thought I was having contractions so my husband took to labor and delivery, my BP was extremely high, and the magnesium wasn’t working, by morning my head was throbbing and nothing was working. They decided I needed an emergency C-section. I remember laying there and what seemed to take for hours waiting for her to cry, finally she came on Nov 21st at 35 weeks. I was so scared. For her and for me.

They took her to NICU bc her breathing was a little off, but after a few hours she was able to breathe normally and I was able to see her. I am very lucky and fortunate that I have both my babies. It is very scary and the feeling as if you already failed as a parent sits in the back of your mind. Thinking what could have I done differently, but in the end I know it wasn’t anything I could have done. Needless to say I had my tubes removed bc my body can’t handle being pregnant. I thank god everyday for my Nolan and Elliana.

One thing, listen to your body. Always. I feel as though if I didn’t listen to it I could have worse off as well as my children. Even if it’s a slight headache or BP won’t go down. Go!
