Dream's Memory

In February of 2019 I suffered from severe preeclampsia an unfortunately lost my daughter, Dream Marie, 23 weeks into my pregnancy 02/14/2019. Within 7-10 days I experienced significant weight gain, swollen ankles headaches and blurred vision prior to my OB appointment. I vocalized my complications and thanks to this doctor I had never met prior I was rushed to labor and delivery before having a seizure and received immediate care. Within a matter of minutes our world was turned upside down. I was told had I attempted to drive back home I would’ve had a seizure and most likely died as my blood pressure was 170/115. I was told that less than 2% of women in the US experience preeclampsia on the level that I did at my age (24). I like many women didn’t know of the true dangers of preeclampsia until I was in the midst of the predicament. After a 6 day fight and nearly losing my life I went home empty handed and full of guilt for not seeing the signs/symptoms earlier. My husband and I have since had a little boy named Legend, our rainbow baby, and love him very much. We plan on telling him about his sister and how much we love them both. Not a day goes by where I don’t think of her, and by participating in this walk and completing surveys through the preeclampsia foundation newsletters I feel as though her passing was not in vain. My goal is to bring as much awareness as I can to preeclampsia, please let me know if you guys are looking for a spokesperson as I want to do as much as I can and speak to as many women as I can to help.
