At 35 weeks pregnant, I was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia after experiencing dangerously high blood pressure and protein in my urine. Just a couple of days later, I was induced and started on a magnesium drip to prevent seizures.
After 20 hours of labor things took a turn—my liver enzymes were rising, and my baby’s heart rate began to drop. I ended up needing an emergency c-section and had hemorrhaging. As a premie, my son spent 4 days in the NICU with hypoglycemia. I didn’t know my symptoms were preeclampsia prior to diagnosis.
