It all started with a regular OB appointment around 28 weeks. Babies were looking great (twin pregnancy) but my blood pressure was a bit high. They admitted me for monitoring and I went home. Next appt still high admitted again. Then Thursday rolls around and I’m still high and this time too high. They sent me to another hospital where I was told “you will not be leaving, you will be here until you deliver” I then was in the hospital for 43 days total. I was monitored daily and on meds. I was told that if anything took a wrong turn I would be delivering ASAP and if not, the goal was to deliver me at 34 weeks. I made it to 34 week I was so proud of myself! My boys were born via C-section and each spent time in the NICU. I’m lucky to say that my boys are healthy and so am I. I was lucky to be under such wonderful care, not everyone has the same luxury.
This is my preeclampsia story. And it is a hard one. But it is mine.
