Every Thing Speaks To Me

I was a 35 years old carrying my first child. I was as healthy someone can be during her pregnancy. I had conceived just a month after covid episode. We never planned for a baby so my son was a surprise pregnancy. I wasn’t on any prenatal. As a matter of concern, I did mentioned these to the OBGYN and she told its okay to start even after pregnancy. The clinic do keep doctors on rotation hence I never met my primary doctor till I was 5 months pregnant. Till then I had developed carpal tunnel’s syndrome and migraines ( if I eat something cold) which were told very common during the pregnancy. I had one or two instance of blurry vision which was also common. Had failed first 1 hr gastestional diabetes test but cleared 3 hrs test. Until my 28th week , when I fell on my knees & palms while I was out for a walk during my lunch break at home. I knew the baby just shifted from anterior posterior position to front as I never had a big bump.

Immediately, I called my provider and it was called if I am not in pain or bleeding then I have nothing to worry. I did something asked them why I don’t feel the babies movement they would say due to anterior posterior position you ll feel less movement. Since 28th week to 30th weeks - we had a baby shower, my sister came from Europe and we roamed whole NYC and could feel the baby kicking. We also had to change our rental house to another 2 bedroom apartment, I had participated in packing and cleaning the house too. The evening after we shifted I was on a call with my managers and suddenly my head started to feel fuming and hot. Late that evening was trying to help in unpacking but I wasn’t feeling any baby movements. I remember when I used to call doctors they would say baby something do go into hibernation hence it’s not like serious. The night I could only feel the hiccups kind of movements. The morning I asked my husband to call the provider while I am leaving for work and ll get some fresh air there after a hectic shifting. The providers said drink water , go for walk and eat sugary syrup.Nothing helped and by Mid day we were at our OBGYN office when they saw no movement in the NST test and with an ultrasound they found his heart beats but no movement.

I was asked to go straight to L&D department where I had my son via emergency c section. My son was taken directly to the NICU within 5 minutes of birth and was in NICU for more than 1 month. I was kept in the paitent room has O had developed postpartum preeclampsia. My bp was high for 3-4 days consecutive days. I wasn’t allowed to visit my baby for those period of time. My son has suffered HIE and now has severe disabilities because of these instances. My doctor who operated me told she can see slight tear in my placenta & placenta abrasion.

I can’t remember anything else what happened that day it was a chaos. But what I you guys to learn from my story is the main doctor who saw me first had prescribed asprin( blood thinner) but none of the other doctors or nurses ever asked me about it. The main doctor never told us anything and assumed she gave us the information and upon 5th month appointment she asked why aren’t you taking the asprin, when we said we were never told she said you guys forgot. I mean how come a first time parents who asked and gave every single details of their lifestyle & health details forgot to take something which was prescribed. Even if she claimed we forgot none of the other doctors also read her notes. 2- when ever I ll call for some concerns the front desk will just brush off stating I am not the only one going to deliver a baby. Even after my fall, they were very casual about it and suggested nothing. While I pressed more on the visit , the main doctor told me you should have some same and same time. When we askes if ultrasound would be needed she simply said rest up and no need to ultrasound.

I have ignored these res flags both with my provider & my body.Hope this helps someone to get better providers & bettercare
