I had a very active and healthy pregnancy. It wasn’t until my 36 week appointment that my doctor mentioned to start monitoring my blood pressure as we saw it gradually increasing. Later that week I went to the hospital to get checked out for high readings but was sent home. At my 37 week appointment, they sent me to L&D to start induction. About two days later after failure to progress, we had to do a c-section. I ended up staying in the hospital in and out of the PICU for myself, as I had to be on magnesium postpartum. After my 6 week follow up, I then had to start managing my high blood pressure with my primary care doctor. I continue to have elevated blood pressure today.
This is my preeclampsia story. And it is a hard one. But it is mine.
