It Gets Worse Before It Gets It Gets Better

I went to Colorado about two months before my due date for my sister in laws wedding. While there I blew up like a balloon and my whole body swelling never came down after returning. I asked my doctor if it was preeclampsia but kept being told no. At 37 weeks I was told I was getting induced the following week. Through asking a lot of why questions it comes out that I have preeclampsia. Knew it! 3 days later my placenta ruptured causing me to start bleeding out. Thankfully we’re fairly close to the hospital and we rushed me in. Baby ended up coming out great since we took immediate action. I had to be put on heavy doses of magnesium which knocked me out for days. I’m so thankful for my family being there for me because the first few days I could barely hold my baby in bed. I didn’t realize the severity of what happened until a nurse came in at one point and was saying most stories don’t end up the way mine did where my baby survived. Almost two years later and I still think about how lucky I am to have these moments with my daughter. My second pregnancy thankfully didn’t have it but it loomed over me everyday.
