On August 28th, 2021 we went to a Salsa Showdown where you taste different salsa and vote for best one. In the middle of it my chest started to hurt. I thought it was heartburn. I took medicine but it never stopped. I went to the doctor on September 1st, 2021. I told her about so she check my urine sample. I was able to give very little. That threw a red flag. But, my blood pressure was perfect. She had me do a 24 hour urine culture. I turned it on that Friday. Saturday, the 4th I really thought I was having a heart attack and nearly woke my husband up several times. The 5th comes around and I woke up with my face severely swollen. I thought it was lack of sleep. We go to church and we’re in the nursery. I told my husband my head hurts and I was having blurry vision. At church he said I look like I was asleep but wasn’t waking up. He got help. Our pediatrician (also goes to our church) came in there and said I was having a seizure. They called 911 and got me to the hospital. Our pediatrician called my OB and she said to go straight to labor and delivery. There had another seizure. My OB made the call to take my baby at 31+4. She was 3 lbs and 1 oz. Stayed in the NICU for 41 days. She’s thriving at home and doing amazing. I don’t remember her birth, but I got to hold her at 4 days old. We’re so blessed that both of us are okay.
