Pre-E Warrior

To start off, you are a warrior! Pre E, isn’t talked about enough. The public doesn’t take it seriously enough. At my 30 week dr appt, my OB told me that if he had his magic ball, he said that I would develop Pre-E. He said I was “special” and had to be seen more frequently than “normal” moms. Now mind you, I already went to the ED, two weeks for ( out of breath, swollen legs, and I just didn’t feel myself). Fast forward I go to the drs again (@32 weeks); HBP, swollen legs and face. She immediately orders blood work, urine sample, and ultrasoundbut they didn’t have one available until 01-27. (At this time it was 01-14). I had to go to another office to get a stress test done, and they had a last min. Doc comes in and diagnosed me with Pre-E. We get done with ultrasound and he rushes me to the hospital saying baby is measuring low. Get to the hospital and all casually they said, “ oh we are just gonna throw monitors on you and baby and see how y’all do. (Um, okay but the dr from the office practically said it was gonna be an emergency CSection) I get admitted on Thursday, get the steroid shot, and they discharged me on Saturday about 2pm. We get home, I got up. IMMEDIATELY, I started having a coughing spell, I couldn’t catch my breath, blood pressure was high. They told me to come back to ED. Long story short, ED and maternity were taking there turns running tests and monitoring. I get back to ED, blood pressure is 190/110, jacked me up with magnesium. Running EKGs, chest X-ray, and ivs. Finally got me stable enough to go to maternity. Horrible Gosh awful migraine, my right eye hurt to touch, behind it. It was awful. Dr. Comes in and says that we need to get the baby out. @8:23 our little baby was born weighing 3 lbs and 14oz, was taken off of the CPap about 24hrs after birth. Was admitted to NICU, for about 5 weeks and one day. We had our ups and downs, especially being an hour away from NICU and dogs to take care of. Not to mention healing from everything my body just went through including a c section and being on magnesium for 5 days. Listen to your bodies, if you don’t feel yourself than you don’t feel yourself. I’m grateful that our little man is 4 months strong and I can’t wait to watch him grow. My heart goes out to each mama out there. We are all Pre-E warriors.
